Bob's Medical & Performance Partners

John McNulty

John McNulty, BS, CSCS is the co-founder and CEO of Synergy Fitness & Sports located in Libertyville, IL home of the winter location for The North Shore Elite Golf Academy. John, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, provides over 20 years of knowledge and experience in human movement to provide our clients every advantage necessary to reach their full potential on the golf course by elevating their level of fitness & performance. Since 1992, John has worked with golfers’ of all levels on rehabilitation, fitness, conditioning and performance enhancement.

John's programs for golfers improve “true” flexibility, mobility, strength, speed, power, and core stability. John has been fortunate enough to observe lessons with PGA Instructors Bob Dickman and Brandon Wessel in order to learn the key components of the golf swing. Because of this he has been able to break down positions that train specific swing components in order to assist with integration of the proper sequence and motor pattern/control of the full swing. But unlike other programs, the key is to maintain position at the appropriate speed. 9 out of 10 times when a golfer faults, the position has not been maintained. This is what separates the average from good and good from great! The ability to maintain and transfer force properly is the key factor to golf improvement.

John's Training Method

John believes that developing a well-balanced athlete focuses on 7 all-encompassed factors all golfers should desire to achieve;

  • True Flexibility
  • Maximal Velocity
  • Maximal Force Production
  • Velocity Endurance
  • Starting Strength
  • Acceleration Strength
  • Easy to Follow Nutrition

This is accomplished through true flexibility, position, balance, coordination and explosive power in the prime movers of the sport. Most importantly, creating a well-developed nervous system and training muscles in a lengthened position will allow for greater resistance to fatigue and provide proper movement execution.

By decreasing the risk of injury through “true” flexibility, which comes from the nervous system and NOT STRETCHING, any golfer will experience dramatic improvement in range of motion within the first training session. What makes this system so effective is everything can be achieved with 7 exercises for the beginner and a hand full more for the elite. What’s unique is how they are performed when one is ready to advance.

John strongly believes in educating his clients and empowering them to manage their own health, fitness and nutrition by providing detailed plans to execute at home or on the road without any equipment necessary. For further details please log on to

Kim Dickman

Kim Dickman is a registered dietitian at Evanston Hospital. She graduated from Indiana University magna cum laude in 2011 with a BS in Dietetics. She went on to Loyola University to complete her yearlong internship. She recently received her Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management in October to enhance her credentials. As a golfer Kim competed at Glenbrook South High School and was awarded CSL All Conference. Her understanding for golf and passion for nutrition will serve you very well.

Every registered dietitian is a nutritionist, but not every nutritionist is a registered dietitian. A registered dietitian requires a bachelor’s degree in dietetics or nutrition, a 1200-hour internship experience and completion of an extensive exam to receive credentials. In addition, an RD must meet continuing professional education requirements (a minimum of 75 hours per five-year period) that meet his/her professional portfolio goals that have been approved by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND). The term “nutritionist” is unregulated, allowing anyone the ability to call themselves a nutritionist. They do not require relevant academic preparation, training or continuing education. As a result of Kim’s comprehensive training she has the knowledge and skill to offer well constructed dietary plans with sound science as opposed to a fad diet approach.
