Senior Director of Player Development
2016 Illinois PGA Teacher of the Year, Golf Digest Best in State 2022-2023
GRAA Top 100 Growth of The Game Teaching Professional

A respected fixture in Chicago’s North Shore golf community for decades, Bob has built his reputation on ethical coaching, clear communication, and results that last. He combines cutting-edge performance technology with a keen, experienced eye—and just as importantly, the ability to teach, motivate, and connect. By guiding students through all four stages of motor learning, Bob ensures that improvements translate from the lesson tee to real performance on the course.

A former Northern Illinois University golf team captain, Bob has been dedicated to understanding and teaching the game since graduating in 1984. As a player, he was named Illinois PGA Assistant Professional Player of the Year in 1985, 1986, and 1987 and qualified twice for the National Club Professional Championship. He later served for more than twenty years as Head Golf Professional at two of the Midwest’s most prestigious clubs—Old Warson Country Club (host of the PGA Ryder Cup Matches) and Glen View Club (U.S. Open host).

Bob was honored as the 2016 Illinois PGA Teacher of the Year and has been nominated seven times, reflecting decades of consistent excellence in instruction. He is currently a Level 3 Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Golf Professional, Junior Coach, and Biomechanist.

Bob has worked with tour professionals, competitive amateurs, club players, juniors, and beginners alike, creating a learning environment that is engaging, supportive, and performance-driven. His approach is demanding yet enjoyable—built on trust, accountability, and a genuine passion for helping players succeed. Over more than 40 years of coaching, Bob has instructed thousands of golfers from all walks of life. His students have earned more than 45 professional tour victories, along with championships including the Illinois State Junior Amateur, Illinois U.S. Kids Championship, Illinois Mid-Amateur Championship, and countless club championships throughout Illinois and beyond. Many of his junior players have gone on to compete at the collegiate level, including:

Colorado • Marquette • Kentucky • Bucknell • Northern Illinois • Illinois Wesleyan • Carthage • Stetson • Wheaton • Alabama • Lipscomb • Taylor

Students benefit from personal instruction by the professional “whose name is on the door,” while training with the most advanced tools in golf, including TrackMan Launch Monitor, K-Vest 3D Motion Capture, V1 Video Analysis, BodiTrak Ground Reaction Force plates, and Premier-Level Titleist Performance Systems. As a long-time member of the Titleist Advisory Staff and a five-time recipient of the Titleist Top 100 Global Fitting Account designation, players have sought Bob’s expertise not only for instruction but also for elite-level equipment fitting and performance optimization.

Bob's students consistently achieve—and exceed—their highest potential because Bob does not force a swing model. Instead, he coaches golfers into their most efficient natural movement patterns, blending science, technology, and exceptional interpersonal skill. Every player receives a customized swing blueprint and development plan designed specifically for their body, goals, and learning style. At the core of Bob’s coaching philosophy is the belief that great teaching is equal parts art and science—and that learning should be fun, challenging, and inspiring. His mission is simple: to help every golfer play better, understand their game more deeply, and enjoy the process along the way.
